REMINDER: No School Monday, Feb. 16, 2009

There is NO SCHOOL this Monday, February 16, 2009, because it is President's Day.

Actually, technically, it's officially supposed to be called Washington's Birthday. According to Wikipedia, "Washington's Birthday [not President's Day] is the designated holiday in section 6103(a) of title 5 of the United States Code, the law that specifies holidays for Federal employees." But for some of us the day has become a kind of combined holiday during which we commemorate the birthdays of both Washington (Feb. 22) and Lincoln (Feb. 12).

Because of all the confusion, "Many sources differ on where to put the apostrophe in the holiday." For this post we've gone with President's Day rather than Presidents' Day since the day still officially belongs to just our first president, George Washington.

Try not to be too confused. Just have a nice day!
